ABOUT BLK IN FASHION
Created by Black Fashion Students
When we notice the racial injustice that takes place in our lives, we have two options; to stand by or demand change. Founders Nana Opoku-Manu and Taniya Evans decided that change was not only needed but necessary to move forward. Created in June 2020 during the racial unrest after the death of George Floyd; Nana was inspired to create a space for black fashion students at Virginia Commonwealth University. Together, seniors Nana and Taniya strive to create a safe space to help guide their peers with events and speakers to give insight into what it's like to be black in the fashion industry
